Anglican Church Women of Canada
Installation of Officers
Officiant: (Archbishop/Bishop if present or Chaplain) addresses the National Body:
My sister's, every Christian is called to follow Jesus Christ, serving God the Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit. As there are many members of the Body of Christ, so there are many gifts. Some of you have been chosen for special responsibilities among the Anglican Church Women of Canada. It is now our task to install the Officers of the National Executive of the Anglican Church of Canada.
List of Officers to be installed is read and the elected / newly-elected members step forward.
(Everyone stands up.)
Officiant:
These are the women you have chosen to serve as Officers for the National Executive of the Anglican Church Women of Canada.
Will you support and uphold these women in their new ministries among you?
People: WE WILL
(All BUT elected members to be installed sit down.)
Officiant: As leaders of the Anglican Church Women of Canada, you are called to minister in the Body of Christ. You are called to give prayerful thought and attention to the goals you set, and to develop the gifts of all the members of the Body of Christ, and to commit yourselves to the work of the National Executive.
As in our baptismal covenant, you are to continue to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbour as yourselves.
I ask you to commit yourselves to this ministry, asking God that you may have the grace and strength to bear the challenges ahead, and the wisdom and love necessary for leadership in Christ's holy catholic Church.
Do you accept the ministry and the responsibilities of the office to which you have been elected, and promise to fulfil them to the best of your ability?
Officers: We do, God being our helper.
Officers: Loving God, we pray for the wisdom to perceive you, the mind to know you, the eyes to behold you, the heart to meditate upon you, the patience to wait for you, the strength to proclaim you, and the diligence and perseverance to do your will; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
Officiant:
My sisters in Christ, I install you as duly elected officers of the National Executive of the Anglican Church Women of Canada. May you have the wisdom, love and strength to bring God's Holy will to completeness and serve as witnesses of the love of Jesus His Son; in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN
